Thank you for a wonderful theme. The format is very clean and readable.

I would, however, like to give a try at some customization of the front page. Basically, I want to change the titles (Announcements, Headline, Featured, Popular; I would leave the Latest).

Is it possible to create a title, and assign the title to a category, and show only posts from that certain category? If so, are you able to explain how?

Also, would “sticky” post attribute work to control those posts on the front page?

    Thank you for your consideration.

The sticky posts appear under a section called “Announcements”. It shows up only if you have sticky posts.

You can give any title to any section, it’s hard coded in the theme.

The Featured section does show a certain category, you may want to take a look at its code

Hi Daniel, I am still loving this theme!

My question now is whether there is a way for me to prevent duplication among the different sections on home page. In other words, it seems possible that the same post would be in the Featured section (though I have changed that to another category), Popular, and also in Latest!

I don’t have many sample posts up yet, but such is the case right now at my site: http://chattahoocheenow.org/

In fact it seems this could happen even with lots of posts, if you have something new that’s featured, it could quickly become Popular also?

So is there any way to prevent something from appearing in Latest if it is in Featured or Popular?

    Hope that makes sense!

You can’t control the content of one section from within the other. But after the website gets more mature this shouldn’t be an issue.
