Esplanade sidebar

Since the latest WP upgrade 4.2.3 the widgets I pull into my right sidebar no longer fit in the sidebar. Half is showing and the other is cut off on the right edge. If I put text into the sidebar as a test the text appears in a narrow width to the right of the sidebar with space in the sidebar to the left. How can I fix this and make the items appear correctly as before, I am a beginner. I really like esplanade but this will stop me using it.

Also are there any recommendations for custom sidebar plugins with this theme since I would like different sidebars on different pages..
