Esplanade. Sidebars and site-width issues

Hi!
I’m testing this theme for my personal blog. Overall I like it, but faced some issues that I’d like to have resolved if possible.

1. On the two sidebar layout left colomn works incorrectly – left sidebar widgets on the front page appears on the bottom somewhy (no matter how wide is this sidebar). On other posts/pages it works normally.
How I could fix this problem?

2. Are there a way to make the site wider? (for example 1200px)
Currently, if I adjust sidebars to the proper width, the main area in this case becomes too narrow.
