I’d like to keep the previews on the main page the same. However when my post goes out to the RSS readers it’s not recognizing the function or the jump. It’s posting the whole post. Is there a way to keep the formatting of the front page and still have it recognize the jump in RSS?

    Hi WilliamsKitchen,

The RSS feed on your page is excactly doing as designed: It shows the content in a rss feed format. It’s an XML-based content format for distributing news, headlines, content, etc.

I’m not sure if I understand what you want, but it sounds like you want to display an RSS feed within your HTML website. Therefore you need a feed reader . Feed readers come in all shapes and sizes these days. The Firefox browser has one built right into the Bookmarks feature. I use Google Reader. But Feed-Burner is good too. They provide a redirect URL (address) for your feed that your audience subscribes to.

Alexander, thanks for your reply! I am actually talking about the formatting in the RSS reader. When my post goes live and I look at it in Good Reader, even when I’ve manually added the jump in my HTML code where I want it to cut the post off, it doesn’t recognize it. It shows the whole post instead of just a preview and then a “click to read more”.

I’d like to add my own “jump” (Click to see what I’m talking about: http://www.stickyreaders.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/jump-break-blogger.jpg) but it’s just not being recognized. Something in the template is over riding it.

But than thats not a topic for the Pinboard support forum but for the WordPress or any reader forum?
