That’s already one thing: I don’t have a “Widgets” menu option in Appearance, nor the menu option “Theme Check”.
I’ll do what you’ve suggested.Daniel TaraKeymasterThat most likely means you’ve done a partial update of the theme. Either that or a plugin is blocking these WordPress core features.

Daniel TaraKeymasterThere doesn’t seem to be anything abnormal with the theme options database value. Can you please try to do a full reinstall of the theme (preferably via ftp) and disable all your plugins to see if the issue persists? If it does check to see if you can see the Appearance → Widgets link on both Enlightenment and Twenty Fifteen.
InvYorParticipantI am having the same issues, just jumped into widgets to check something out and noticed all sidebars were gone. After going into theme options > sidebars when you try to create a new dynamic sidebar it overwrites the previous sidebar that was created. It’s only allowing for one dynamic sidebar.
Major issue as I was about to launch the new site this week, thanks for the help.
InvYorParticipantFurthermore to the previous suggestion I completely deleted the theme folder and uploaded the new one you provided yesterday, issue still persists.
Daniel TaraKeymasterSo just to frame this properly: this feature was working properly and then out of the blue it started not allowing more than one sidebar without any update to the theme or a specific plugin or WordPress itself?
InvYorParticipantThat’s what it seems like. Here’s what I’ve done:
- Updated theme yesterday – no issues besides a few things losing styling based on new css paths created
- Modified css today without issue in the theme options – site was working perfectly without issue
- Went to check something in themes > widgets – noticed there were no longer the dynamic sidebar options
- Went to theme options > Sidebars – All dynamic sidebars were gone
- Tried adding new sidebar – 1st one shows up fine in widgets area
- Tried to add second dynamic sidebar – it then replaces the first one
- Repeated previous line with different sidebar name – it replaces the last one created
- Site design a mess as sidebars no longer present
bastiaanbrouwerParticipantI’ve done the full reinstall: new wordpress, new database, new theme. There are no plugins active.
I am still not able to create a dynamic sidebar. If I create one, for exampe “Home Full Screen”, then go to appearance>widgets, there I can see the “Home Full Screen” widget. When I go back to appearance>theme options and create another sidebar, then go back to appearance>widget, the “Home Full Screen” is overridden by the new created sidebar.
I have switched theme. The widget menu excists also in the theme twenty fifteen, but the sidebars don’t.
Could this have to do with a recent WordPress update?
InvYorParticipantAnybody figure out a solution to this problem yet? I realized afterwards that I had updated the bootstrap short codes plugin shortly before, but tried reverting that back and disabling but still no luck.
I’m working on content as that still works fine but really want to get the design sorted out as I’m coming up on a deadline for the site that will be using this template.
Appreciate the help!
bastiaanbrouwerParticipantGreat job! It’s working now!
What was the issue in the end? I am very curious.
bastiaanbrouwerParticipantBut, I cheered too soon. I am having issues again.
I was able to create all sidebars, set up the site, UNTIL i pushed the button “Reset values” while editing one of the sidebars. The browser gave an error on line 52? something with an array? and now all the sidebars are gone, plus I cannot make a sidebar anymore.
Help! Do I need to upload the theme again? Did my database go crooked?
mampfParticipantHello =)
I have the same problems like bastiaanbrouwer. It is still not working with the current version.
mampf
InvYorParticipantSame issue of sidebars disappearing but at a different point. I am able to add all the sidebars and they appear in widgets, but if I go back to the sidebars tab to edit one of the pages below and add the sidebar locations when I hit save, all of them get erased again.
Making progress but still issues. Thanks for troubleshooting this!
