Latest Post Photo Too Big & Limit Amount of Posts on Front Page

Hi everyone,
I love this theme! My latest post photo is too big for my liking.

I’m doing a Year in Photos Page. How do I reduce the size of the photos in my latest post?

Also how do I reduce the amount of posts on my front page.
