Hi. I am not familiar with programming and html so I need simple and easy answers – please- I have a website using the theme minimatica and I love the way I can display my paintings. Therefor I would like to have similar pages one in english and one in german, but how do I do that? If I create a new page and a tab in the menu-bar with English and one with German (or two small flags at the top or the buttom of the Danish site – but discrete please – and when people click on those flags they are taken to the exact same content of the homepage only this time in English and German. Can anybody help me with that please? Best regards and thank you so much in advance. Anitta
Hi Daniel. It is not the translation I need – I need to know how I can create or copy the exact same pages as I already have and then translate them into German and English myself.
In the folder languages you have the translation template. Open it with Poedit and translate the strings. Then save and compile it under the name of the desired language. e.g.: for English en_US.po, for German de_DE.po etc. Then set the locale setting of WordPress to that value.
I don’t have a folder called languages – maybe I do it wrong, I am not very good at this. I type in :

in my browser and nothing happend.Then I went into this

but still I cannot find it. Maybe I just have to give up. I can make new pages and make them similar to the existing ones but then I don’t know how to avoid the new page to pop up on them menu on my first page. I don’t want that I would really like just to have a little flag icon with English and German and by clicking on either one of them you would be transferred to a total similar kind of my website, with the same pages pictures posts etc. but in the chosen language. It is so frustrating that I cannot figure out how to do it. I love your theme by the way..so GREAT looking. Thanks for trying to helping me..Best regards Anitta
