slider on blog page instead of home page

I am very new to this. i can’t get the slider to show on the home page instead of blog page. i think it has to do with the custom link in the menu. i didn’t understand what it meant blog link should point to subdomain url, home should point to slider url, and setup default wodpress theme on sub-dmain. PLEASE HELP!
