First off, love this theme. I am working with a good friend of mine to setup his website using this. But I have two questions I need help with. I tried seeing if I could find anything but really did not.

1st. I see that in the post items, there is the option to setup the featured image and then it shows up on the slider on the front page. But what I am not see is the option for the featured image on the page creation page. This site is going to be more static than blog and really would like to make use of featured images on pages. If some one can help out that figuring out where its gone. When I change to a default theme, the option is back for pages, so I don’t believe it a plugin.

2nd. If we get the featured image working on pages, can those images be the ones used in the slider or do they have to come from a post? If they can be from a page, please let me know what to look for or mess with to fix this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi cdhodgdon,
1st: afaIk there is no featured image for pages (correct me if I’m wrong on that one). The easiest way to get the same result is creating an article with the title and featured image you want to be shown for the page and then do a small change to the code. For that, check out this little trick here:
    http://www.onedesigns.com/support/topic/link-slider-to-a-page-instead-of-post/page/2

I guess you wouldn’t want the article used for that to be shown in the archives (or anywhere else for that purpose). I’d combine it with this plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/simply-exclude/

2nd: well, see above. IF there was an option for a featured image coming from a page, you would still have to use the small code I linked first. Your only advantage would be that you would not have to use the “untidy” help of a plugin for hiding that post.

The result from the small extra code can be seen here: http://www.fenweb.de/
It’s an unfinished website but I think you can get the general idea. Check out if that would be the way you want your site to work (I only used external links)

    Hope that helps,
    the part-time-Kiwi
