Hi I have come from wordpress from designing ASP.NET sites in Visual Studio so am very much a WP newbie..
I found your site the other day and downloaded your Esplanade theme.
I absolutely love it as it will allow me to use different layouts throughout a site, simply by selecting 1, 2 or no sidebars.

However, I would also like to get down to a very minimalistic design so have – on the desgn page – changed the header (and header image size) , body and wrapper CSS thus removing sidebar and border colours.

All is as wanted EXCEPT there are spaces above and below the header image and I cannot get the maincontect up immediately under the menu bar – as are the sidebars.
You can see what I mean by one of may pages on my test site:-

Any help (please) in sorting out the problem would be most appreciated.

    Regards
    Pete

Really dissapointed not to have had a reply on how ro remove the gaps above and below my modified header jprg and how to move the text in the content area up so it is immediately under the menu bar.

Really woould have liked to use this them in an upcoming site.

    Any ideas please ??

You want to remove the ‘CT Cleaning Services’ portion?

Also, change your Permalinks from what it is to…..Post Name. Settings->Permalinks
    Will help your SEO.

    Thanks for the tips guys…
I actually managed to sort my original problems out and am just continuing with learning how to use WPress.
CT Cleaning Services is just a simple site I know with two sidebars. I have now removed the original header image. and will have a look at PermaLinks – which I have no idea what they are or do at the moment.
The site you looked at has been set up for me on a server so that I can practice on-line, rather than set up on my computer. It is not actually connected to a domain.

    Thanks again for coming back.
